Vernon L. Harris is an accomplished trial lawyer who brings more than 36 years of litigation experience to Sargon Law Group. Throughout his career, Vernon has served as lead counsel in more than 150 jury trials taken to verdict, building extensive courtroom experience across a wide range of complex legal matters.


Before joining Sargon Law Group, Vernon spent 23 years as an Arizona Assistant Attorney General in the Child and Family Protection Division, where he served as Division Training Counsel and Senior Litigation Attorney. During his tenure with the Arizona Attorney General's Office, he was twice recognized as Litigator of the Year and received both the Outstanding Advocate Award and Excellence in Service Award.


Vernon's experience extends beyond the courtroom to developing the skills of other attorneys. For the past 14 years, he has served as a faculty member for the National Association of Attorneys General, where he has twice been named Faculty Member of the Year. His instruction has covered litigation skills, jury selection, taking and defending depositions, examination of expert witnesses, conducting investigations, and other aspects of trial practice.


Earlier in his career, Vernon served as a Gang Prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. One of his jury trials was featured in the two-hour CBS special "CBS Reports: Enter the Jury." He earned his law degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 1990 and is a member of the Order of the Barristers.


At Sargon Law Group, Vernon handles a diverse caseload that includes wrongful death, insurance bad faith, automobile accidents, dog bites, premises liability, and complex litigation. Outside of his legal practice, Vernon serves on the Board of Trustees of the church he has attended for more than 23 years.
